Minority in Ghana Parliament Attacks Speaker!
The Ghanaian Parliament on Tuesday 21 November, 2021 witnessed a very ugly incidence when the minority in parliament made a move to attack the both the first and second deputy speakers of parliament. The main opposition party hard vowed to reject the 2021 budget should the minister of finance failed to remove E- levy from the budget. The Electronic levy was introduced by the government as part of the 2022 budget to raise an equivalent of Ghc7 billion each year which the govt. has said it would use proceeds from the levy to finance roads, support planting for food and job project, create employment for the youth, etc. But the opposition in parliament has vehemently opposed the levy. They say the imposition of the tax will bring unbearable hardship to the average Ghanaian. the debate over the levy is what resulted in a chaotic seen. this is seen in this video:
