  Irate NPP youth vandalise party properties in Yendi over polling station executives elections rimpong Emmanuel   March 14, 2022 Politics Conflicts and violence have characterised the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s polling station executives election in the Yendi Constituency after some irate youth vandalised the Party’s office on Sunday, March 13. This comes after the Party’s leadership issued a warning that it will expel members who do not use internal mechanisms to address their concerns. The youth claim the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Farouk Aliu Mahama, is trying to stuff the election register in order to get his favorite persons  The party supporters who destroyed sign boards of the MP explained that the register being used for the exercise has unapproved names and individuals captured in it. We’ve set up committee to probe internal election challenges – Freddy Blay

  The National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay says the party has put together a special committee to assess the concerns of some party members over the recently held polling station executive elections. He said the committee’s decisions will be upheld by the party and all the concerned parties will be expected to take note and act accordingly. “We’ve set up a committee and we are taking care of these issues. Those who have grievances some can be accommodated and those that cannot be accommodated, it is unfortunate and there will be better times where they can take advantage of. UKRAINE EMBASSY IN NIGERIA UNDER SIEGE

  As hundreds of Nigerians in Ukraine are struggling to return home, there are reports that about 115 young men have offered to join Ukraine in its fight against Russia. According to the Guardian in Africa’s most populous country, the men, who besieged the Ukraine Embassy in Abuja, also put down their names in a register provided by the embassy. The Second Secretary, Ukraine Embassy, Bohdan Soltys, confirmed the development, adding that no step had yet been taken to that effect. The volunteers may have been responding to a recent call by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, urging people around the world to join the fight.
